Ok, the phone company can’t give you the info but they can give it to the police department. A cell phone number comes back to the carrier when traced. They need to take a subpeona to the cell phone carrier’s office. The carrier can then tell the police who that number is registered to. If it’s his home phone then the same principal applies with the telephone company.

Call the police back. If they don’t follow up on it go to the local prosecutor’s office and make your complaint.

I have a feeling that my battery in my remote locking keyfob is running out, as it has started only working intermittently. I was wondering if anyone could tell me what will the effects be if it runs out completely, or I take it out to replace it? Will it affect my immobiliser? or is it just going to affect the ability to open/lock the car from a distance?

Please help me as i am worried that if it runs out or I replace it I will have to pay to get the key working with the immobiliser again! :-(

You will always be able to open the door with the key. What may next happen is that the alarm goes off, in which case the answer is to switch the engine on. This turns the alarm off.

All this is to suggest that you had better hurry up and get a new battery in for the convenience. I would also suggest that you get another fob as a backup. I know it costs a lot of money, but you really don’t want to lose your only key.
